Now is not a moment to be silent

Show me what democracy looks like

In July 2025, I attended the “Good Trouble” rally in Indianapolis—a peaceful protest defending democracy and rejecting authoritarianism. I unexpectedly found myself with a bullhorn in hand, leading chants alongside neighbors, activists, and artists.

I’ve spent my career helping people find and use their voice. This moment reminded me of the power of using my own.

Grateful to the stranger who gave me the gift of their bullhorn. Humbled to be featured by the Indy Star. Energized to keep working toward a more just and connected world—through story, strategy, and action.

I gave my first homily, “Decisions & Futurism: What to remember while making choices to build a better tomorrow,” at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie on December 29th, 2024.

I shared what gives me hope on WERU’s Next Wave, an award-winning podcast hosted by my dear friend, Pepin Mittelhauser.

I talked to a neighbor from across the ideological divide as part of StoryCorp’s One Small Step series.

I welcomed candidates, sponsors, and attendees at the 2023 Meet the Candidates event.

I co-hosted the 2023 Ellsworth Pride Festival
